Introducing the new B71XS from Bentsai

Handheld printer maker, Bentsai, has added a new printer to its best-selling range.

The B71XS handheld printer is a brand new type of printer for Bentsai and includes some exciting new features, such as a motorised traverse system and scan-to-print function. Bentsai has developed this new model having taken on board feedback from the market and has produced something that, at under £1,000, is far cheaper than its nearest competitor.

The first stand-out innovation is that the printer includes a motorised traverse system. This means the printer moves the ink cartridge across the surface when printing so that the user doesn’t have to. The user simply lines up the printer to where they want the print to be made, selects ‘print’ on the screen and the printer does the rest. With all the other Bentsai models, the user has to move the printer across the substrate, keeping the encoder wheel in contact with the surface so that the printer can accurately produce the print at the correct speed.

Another new feature is the printer’s integral scanner, enabling the printer to scan machine-readable codes and reproduce them in either machine-readable or human-readable formats.

The new printer has 8GB of embedded memory, compared to 128MB in the comparable B6210 printer.

The B71SX uses a single cartridge with a 1” high printhead. It can use both aqueous and solvent ink cartridges to print on porous and non-porous materials.

Using its motorised traverse system to move the ink cartridge within the carriage when printing, means the B71XS is more accurate than other Bentsai models where the system relies on even contact between the wood and the encoder wheel.

The machine can print crisp text, counter and date codes and its high-resolution print quality means it can also print pin-sharp bar codes, QR codes and logos.

Like all the other Bentsai printers, the new model is easy to program from a touch screen interface, and data/images can be uploaded by USB.
