EPAL has <\/span>approved <\/span>Timbermark\u2019s Yeacode<\/span> inkjet system<\/span> for printing Europallets<\/span>. <\/span><\/p>\n

The approval applies to printing <\/span>the Oval and ISPM15 logos<\/span>,<\/span> and<\/span> the QR code serialisation project.<\/span><\/p>\n

As an<\/span> approved supplier<\/span>, Timbermark<\/span> can supply printer system<\/span>s<\/span> throughout the UK and EU<\/span> to <\/span>EPAL <\/span>licensee<\/span>s <\/span>needing to comply<\/span> with <\/span>the latest EPAL<\/span>regulations<\/span>. <\/span><\/p>\n

The <\/span>inkjet printer system, developed<\/span> for the pallet industry<\/span> in partnership with Chinese supplier, Yeacode, has <\/span>a few standout features, which make it ideal for printing QR codes on pallet blocks.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u2022 <\/span>The recirculating ink system means the printheads do not dry out and rarely get clogged or need priming. <\/span><\/div>\n
\u2022 <\/span>The printer ha<\/span>s<\/span> a throw distance of up to 3cm, meaning the printhead <\/span>can print <\/span>through a slotted protection plate, <\/span>offering protection from p<\/span>rotruding nails<\/span>.<\/span><\/div>\n
\u2022 <\/span>T<\/span>he UV-curing ink is very dark black, <\/span>suitable for recycled composite blocks, and tolerant of damp timber surfaces. <\/span><\/div>\n

In addition to the<\/span> exceptional print quality, the <\/span>Timbermark <\/span>controls system <\/span>adds value to the overall system. The standard version <\/span>switches<\/span> design <\/span>from block to block<\/span>, meaning that <\/span>each pallet block can be printed with a different message<\/span>,<\/span> and <\/span>the positioning is perfect on <\/span>each<\/span> block, even if the pallet feed is <\/span>intermittent.<\/span> The <\/span>upgrade<\/span>d version<\/span> combined with <\/span>the installation of <\/span>downstream <\/span>scanners is approved for <\/span>EPAL\u2019s <\/span>data serialisation QR code project<\/span>. The same control PC acts as the \u201cMaster Computer\u201d<\/span>, <\/span>with a live connection to the EPAL cloud server for <\/span>retrieval, handling <\/span>and <\/span>submission of validated codes back to EPAL.<\/span><\/p>\n

With these features and the seal of approval from EPAL, Timbermark is confident they have a <\/span>product that can add real value to Europallet producers.<\/span><\/p>\n

T<\/span>he <\/span>EPAL <\/span>serialisation <\/span>module allows <\/span>licensee<\/span>s <\/span>to participate in the QR code project<\/span>, and in turn <\/span>contribute <\/span>to <\/span>improv<\/span>ing<\/span> recycling and reuse rates in wooden packaging.<\/span>\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n
